Many people tuning into the final of Britain’s Got Talent last night were overjoyed at the news of Sydnie Christmas being crowned the winner.
The 28-year-old wowed the audiences and judges alike with her emotional rendition of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and was brought to tears after Ant and Dec announced her win, knocking out rival contestant Jack Rhodes to the top spot.
However, head judge Simon Cowell has since had to hit back at claims that the BGT final was 'fixed' following Sydnie's win.
Many ITV viewers rushed to social media following the announcement sharing their outrage over the fact that Sydnie, who has reportedly already had previous experience on stage from working on a cruise ship and in a German stage production of Starlight Express, won the competition.

One X user hit out: "Another @BGT fix another person who is trained in singing and theatre who has been on stage before… amazing singer but there were other acts who should have had their chance! Ah well… #BGT."
Another fumed: "What a fix. They knew what they were doing putting her last #bgt."
"Confirming this show is a complete fix. A professional should never have been allowed to audition in the first place," remarked a third while a fourth slammed: "What a FIX!!!! #BGT Been obvious since her first audition."

And a final X user added: "So an already established singer just won BGT 2024, what a fix. Jack was robbed but they knew what they were doing when choosing the running order, not a coincidence both Jack and Sydnie were the last 2 acts and in the top 2 and Simon's whole no professionals in the top 2 #BGT."
Mere moments before her win was announced, Simon made a series of comments following Sydnie's performance which seemingly address the speculation that the show was 'fixed'.
He said: "Winning is important, but, you know, getting into this final and importantly, doing something great, will actually make a difference.

"You know what was interesting? I worked out, I don't think a single act tonight were professionals. They all had a regular job, yeah, and they did something extraordinary."
Simon also added that Sydnie's performance left him feeling 'very emotional' adding: "That was really something special, that lyric felt so personal to you about what you must have wanted over the years with a god-given talent like that and for whatever reason you’ve been ignored."
Fellow judge, Amanda Holden, also felt 'very emotional', praising: "I know how long you have waited for this moment, it was utterly spellbinding and perfect in every way. It was just gold dust."
