The musical fantasy adventure is set on the Polynesian island of Motunui, and follows inhabitants of the island that worship the goddess of nature, known as Te Fiti.
The living island brought life to the ocean using a pounamu stone as her heart and power source, but trouble was afoot when Maui, the shape-shifting demigod of the wind and sea and master of wayfinding, stole Te Fiti's heart to give humanity the power of creation.

As a result, Maui lost both the heart and his magic fish hook to the depths of the sea.
Moana is the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a coastal village, who is chosen by the ocean to reunite the mystical relic with goddess Te Fiti.
Moana was nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song ("How Far I'll Go") at the 2017 Oscars.
Critics loved it, with Mark Kemode noting: "A joyous tale of a Polynesian teenager’s quest to save her homeland, which boasts eye-watering visuals, earworm songs and heart-swelling messages about respect for the past and hopes for the future."
