Disney have confirmed the release date of the Freaky Friday sequel, and we cannot wait.
The iconic movie, led by Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, is set to return as Freakier Friday on August 8, 2025 in American cinemas, it was confirmed on social media today.
The news comes two decades after the initial release of Freaky Friday in 2003.

The first film followed Anna (Lohan), a rebellious teen, switching bodies with her mother Tess (Curtis).
Anna was an aspiring musician who struggles at school thanks to her bullyish ex-best friend, but her controlling parent Tess fails to recognise her talent and believes she's acting out as a result of her father's death - until it's almost too late.
But that's far from all - in the reboot, the one and only Chad Michael Murray is set to to return in order to reprise his role as Anna’s original love interest, Jake.
Fellow original cast members Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Michell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will also return.
Our hearts can't take it.

Hopefully, we'll get another Pink Slip moment. Music royalty and we should only be so lucky.
As per Deadline: "The return to the world of Tess (Curtis) and Anna will involve a multigenerational twist. After experiencing a body swap with her single mother in the original film thanks to a magic fortune cookie, Anna now has her own daughter as well as a stepdaughter.
"The merging of two families provides ground for another instance of what happened in Freaky Friday (2003).
"Curtis did confirm that one swap not happening would be that between Tess and Murray’s character Jake."

The reboot was initially confirmed during Lohan's appearance on Sirius XM's Andy Cohen Live on 4 March.
The 37-year-old said: "I don't want to say too much. And we're both excited. I'm gonna speak for Jamie."
Lohan and Curtis have remained steady friends over the years, with Curtis sharing a selfie of herself and Lohan in November last year - which of course, fans loved.

At a star-studded meet up, Curtis shared a snap next to Freaky Friday co-star Curtis.
She wrote: "YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY!"
She went on to add: "Well, it's Friday, and the strike is over so hopefully, we can switch places again in the near future! @lindsaylohan."
Our teenage hearts are breaking... It's safe to say, we can't wait for any of it.
