It's potentially a dream of many to have a successful career spanning decades in the film industry as an actor, while getting to retain privacy in your day-to-day life.
While it seems like it would be impossible, it's one man's reality.
It seems like a pretty obvious consequence of being in several blockbuster titles that you're in with a pretty good chance of being recognised on your way to the local supermarket, but this actor has pulled it off with a bang.

The Hollywood star has been working in the industry as an actor for more than two decades and a huge number of people have no idea what he really looks like.
Where you'll have seen him
including such as Pan's Labyrinth, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Shape of Water and Hellboy.

Alongside being an actor, the 64-year-old actor is a contortionist and mime artist.
His on-screen co-stars include the celebrated likes of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Meryl Streep and George Clooney.
Those who do know the man in question will be screaming at the screen by now, so allow me to reveal to you: his name is Doug Jones.
With over 100 film credits under his belt, it's impressive we don't all know who he is.

And the reason why is pretty cool.
Oscar-winning makeup
He has been known to bring many monstrous and mythical creatures to life through the use of an extensive range of prosthetics and special visual effects.

He has played the likes of a zombie, an alien and a sewer imp.
It's clear that the very detailed work that goes into obscuring him is very impressive indeed, with Pan's Labyrinth taking home three Oscar gongs, including Best Makeup.
In his Instagram bio, Doug refers to himself as a 'tall, skinny fella', and has been noted for his sinewy appearance in interviews.
Adam B. Vary wrote for Buzzfeed: "At 6 feet 3 inches tall and 140 pounds, Jones' slender, sinewy frame and narrow, angular face make him look almost otherworldly — kind of like a living special effect."

Which is a polite-ish way to say they think he looks weird.
Doug later added: "I'm hired because I'm a tall, skinny guy — with other talents, I hope.
"But the creature effects guys love to start with a skinny, long palette, because they can build on it and not make it too bulky."
And though it's definitely true that many people haven't been aware of Doug Jones' face (until now at least), some fans were keen to point out they know exactly who he is.
One person wrote: "if you think i don't immediately recognize our lord and savior Doug Jones you are sorely mistaken."
Another added: "Imagine not knowing Doug Jones. Couldn’t be me."
