Gossip Girl fan spots major error in first ever episode of series

Fans are still noticing mistakes and inconsistencies throughout the show - from as early as the first episode.

Gossip Girl may have first aired over a decade ago, but its impact stays unshakeable.

From Serena and Blair's on-again, off-again friendship to complicated romances and high-society scandals, the hit teen drama captivated audiences worldwide, leaving fans (including myself) invested in the glamorous lives of Manhattan's elite.

Now, years after saying goodbye to the beloved tv series in 2012,an eagle-eyed fan has spotted some mistakes.

The pilot episode, which aired in 2007, had several errors that didn't hold up as the series played out, according to TikToker @caesarsaladmartini.

The TikToker pointed out that in the pilot's opening scene, a girl snaps a photo of Serena Van Der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Gossip Girl (voiced by Kristen Bell) names the tipster in question.

This is the only time throughout the series that the website reveals one of its sources, making the rest of the informants anonymous for the remainder of the series.

The blip in the pilot episode isn't the only one us die-hard fans have noticed as the six series kept us in a chokehold.

For a reminder, in the pilot season we are introduced to Blair Waldorf's (Leighton Meester) mother, Eleanor.

However, by the second episode, the producers had changed the actress from Florencia Lozasno to Margaret Colin, who become a regular face on the show instead.

Other errors (maybe small, but not to us in the fandom) includeSerena mentioning her grandpa in Rhode Island, but never mentioning him again...

If that wasn't strange enough, the TikToker also noted that it was a strange choice for Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) to be riding the New York City bus to school alongside Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), considering the duo are a 'billionaire and a millionaire' respectively.

It's not only errors in the shows that still have Gossip Girl fans talking about the cast and the scandal.

Recently, Chace brought to light some behind the scenes relationships that happened while the show was being filmed.

Speaking in an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Chace was asked if he had any on-set romances with his co-stars.

He responded: "I would say those things are inevitable.

"When you're in your 20s... the thing is you're on these things - people probably think it's these sexy scenes or whatever, that's like the worst part of it, with 60 people watching.

"It's the downtime. You're doing this show, you're on set for like 12-14 hours a day and usually there's some pretty interesting people from all walks of life."

The actor didn't confirm which co-star it was, and while romances between the cast were widely known at that time - Penn and Blake - it's still uncertain who he could be referring to.

Maybe Gossip Girl could give us the tea if she came back?
