With Grey's Anatomy soon set to air its 21st season, fans might be interested to know that creator Shonda Rhimes has a whole bunch of bingeable, critically acclaimed series for them to enjoy.

If you’ve just recently finished watching season 20 of Grey’s Anatomy, you might be looking for something to replace your medical drama fix.

The show has been on air since 2005, and has been a hit with fans ever since.

There are currently 430 episodes in total, all of which are around 40 minutes long.

Meaning that if you really wanted to go all the way back to the beginning, you’ve got 286 hours to catch up on - about 12 days if you did nothing but watch them back to back consecutively.

This political thriller follows the story of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), a former media consultant to the president, who goes on to open her own crisis management firm.

Her staff members include Quinn Perkins (Katie Lowes), who has a complicated past, and a hacker named Huck (Guillermo Diaz).

In the drama’s synopsis, it says: “As she moves forward it becomes clear that, while her staffers may specialise in cleaning up the lives of other people, they can't seem to do the same for themselves.”

The TV show has a staggering 93 percent critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.

So it could be one to add to your list if you’ve been hooked on Grey’s Anatomy.

How To Get Away With Murder (2014)

This mystery thriller follows Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), a charismatic and seductive professor of defence law.

Throughout the series, she selects a group of her students - specifically the best and the brightest - to help her with cases at her law firm.

The synopsis hints that ‘mysteries arise’ and that ‘dark truths’ are revealed.

With an 88 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, it could be the next drama you fixate over.

Despite only having two seasons, this Shondaland drama has still scored 74 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

It sees ​​Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), a strong and successful private investigator, get expertly conned by her fiancé, who disappears with millions.

She plays a ‘dangerous game’ trying to hunt him down before he runs away with everything she has.

If you’ve been searching high and low for another medical drama to scratch your Grey’s Anatomy itch, you’re in the right spot.

In fact, it’s actually a spin-off of the original series, created by Shondaland.

It ran for six seasons before it ended in 2013, but fans it's safe to say fans were hooked.

The synopsis reads: “Neonatal surgeon Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) escapes from a dysfunctional love triangle, leaving her friends and foes at Seattle Grace Hospital behind for a fresh start in Los Angeles."

She then goes on to join a trendy public clinic run by her recently divorced friends, Sam and Naomi Bennett.

ABC has announced the season 21 release date for Grey's Anatomy, which will be Thursday September 26.
