Harry Potter fans in stitches over deleted scene showing Professor Snape like we've never seen him before

Harry Potter fans in stitches over deleted scene showing Professor Snape like we've never seen him before

It shows Professor Severus Snape in a whole new light...

Die-hard Harry Potter fans will think they know everything about the franchise after poring over every book, film and cast interview.

But there’s one hilarious deleted scene you may not be familiar with, and it shows one key character in a WHOLE new light:

Many of you may have been revisiting the films lately, as they seem innately wintry in ways we can’t really explain.

But even if you’re on your 100th watch of the movie series, it feels like there are always details that you never spotted – hardly surprising given just how vast JK Rowling’s created world is.

But there’s one that you will have quite literally missed, as it never actually made it into the final cut.

The scene, which was in the original Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book but deleted from the movie adaptation, shows Professor Severus Snape like we’re never seen him before on screen, stepping into the role of some sort of grounds monitor... Monitoring something in particular that you likely won’t guess.

The sequence sees Harry exiting the winter Yule Ball into a quiet courtyard, where he bumps into two fellow students kissing – one of whom turns around and tells him to ‘get out’.

Harry then does as he's told and walks away as the two young lovers get back to canoodling.

But it seems the courtyard is something of a hotbed for extra-curricular activities, as Harry then finds himself next to carriage shaking suspiciously from side to side, also peeking into another carriage to see two students getting it on in the back seat.

As he leaves the hot-and-heavy courtyard, he spots Snape standing beside the rocking carriage, having supposedly clocked what’s happening.

Running up to the carriage, he casts a spell to open the steamy window, before berating the two students for their misconduct.

The adolescents awkwardly hop out the carriage, fix up their outfits and make a hasty run for the door.

He says: "Ten points from Hufflepuff, Fawcett! And ten points from Ravenclaw, too, Stebbins!" before slamming the door and picking up his conversation with fellow professor Igor Karkaroff again.

After the clip was posted on YouTube, fans were shook after seeing Snape in his new role.

"I love the idea that Snape is the self-imposed Hogwarts Sex Police...LOL,” one posted, with another saying: "Throughout the rest of the series, Snape has never shown as much violent determination as he did when he sprinted to that carriage to prevent students from making out!"

A third wrote: "I wish so many scenes weren't deleted from the movie, this is one of those scenes!!"

Another agreed: "I will never understand why this was deleted. Such an important scene."

Others also praised the idea of seeing the 'goofy’ side of Snape for the first time, with one writing: "The way Snape runs towards that carriage is freaking hilarious.”
