If you’re a fan of Home Alone, there’s no way you won’t remember the iconic house it all took place in.
It was a massive suburban home, which included that iconic Christmassy feeling and decorations galore. And it was probably a home many of you dreamed to have lived in when you were a kid watching the flick.
However, Home Alone fans have now been left shocked after finding out what the iconic house looks like now.

Spoiler: It ain’t great.
We’ve all heard about the 'Millennial Grey' interior trend, but this is even worse.
Now that we’re three weeks away from the big day, we’re all getting ready to snuggle up in front of our tellies and binge-watch Christmas movies to ensure that we’re in the right spirit moving forward.
While there’s a big debate on which is the ultimate Christmas movie, there are some which stand the test of time.

There’s It's A Wonderful Life, Love Actually and The Grinch, but we all know that Home Alone is the ultimate flick for the whole family - It’s just got it all.
Not only is there a plot filled which chaos and mild violence, but the casting was absolutely spot on.

It just wouldn’t be the same without it. Imaging Kevin's shenanigans taking place in a beige house? Gross.
Instead, we were treated to a grand red carpet running up the staircase, printed wallpaper (which is hard to find these days in houses), large rugs and cosy furnishings.
But now that it has been 34 years after the film was released, there’s clearly been changes made to the original home.
Unfortunately, it happens to have taken on the new minimalist and grey colour palette trend…

The Lincoln Avenue mansion, which stands tall in Winnetka, Illinois, has now been sold for a whopping $5,250,000 (£4,140,000) last year. And with a sale, comes a sales listing and that can only mean one thing… pictures.
Fans of the franchise who have seen the snaps of the newly decorated interiors are horrified, and took to social media to share their thoughts on it.

To be honest, we’re all thinking the same thing about the house, and the comments are spot on about it all.
One Instagram user asked: "Where’s the red-hot door handles, frozen basement steps, tarantula, and cat flap???"
"Reminds me of unseasoned chicken," said a second, while a third agreed, writing: "Whoever did this thinks salt is spicy."
And a fourth pointed out: "Really missed the opportunity to turn it into a home alone Airbnb or museum type thing."
"Devoid of any personality now. What was the point," slammed a fifth.
Do you agree?
