Home Alone fans have been left seriously shocked after discovering what the iconic house from the first film looks like now.
It's that time of year when we snuggle up in front of our tellies and, for the 100th time, watch our favourite Christmas movies to bring on the holidays the right way.
Right up there with It's A Wonderful Life, Love Actually and The Grinch, it's clear the feel-good family comedy that is Home Alone has cemented itself as a cult classic in the beloved genre.
Other than a brilliantly chaotic plot and perfect casting, one of the things that makes Home Alone so good is the deliciously 90s interiors of the McCallister mansion - AKA where all of Kevin's shenanigans take place.

Fans of the flick will no doubt remember the beautiful red carpet running up the staircase, the printed wallpaper, sprawling rugs and cosy furnishings laying base to the family's perfectly-placed clutter.
However, 34 years after the film hit cinemas, the house has had a major makeover and it's clear people are far from happy with the new minimalist and grey colour palette.
The house, located down Lincoln Avenue in the affluent neighbourhood of Winnetka, Illinois, has since been sold for a hefty $5,250,000 (£4,140,000) last year.

After seeing the snaps of the newly-decorated interiors, fans of the franchise rushed to social media to share their sheer disappointment over the complete lack of 'character' the house now has.
Referencing Kevin's iconic booby traps in the film, one Instagram user wondered: "Where’s the red-hot door handles, frozen basement steps, tarantula, and cat flap???"
"Reminds me of unseasoned chicken," hit out a second, while a third echoed: "Whoever did this thinks salt is spicy."
A fourth pointed out: "Really missed the opportunity to turn it into a home alone Airbnb or museum type thing."

"Devoid of any personality now. What was the point," slammed a fifth.
A sixth pipped: "About as cosy as the dentists!"
"What’s the point in buying an iconic house to make it look like an ordinary house," hit out a seventh while another snapped: "White/grey generic AF house decor.

"Actually so grim. Just missing the 'Live Laugh Love' sign that goes with all of these."
And a final Instagram user added: "How dare they ruin what was a lovely house full of character and history!"
What do you make of the new decoration?
