I’m A Celeb star Tulisa’s life-long health condition explained as it could prevent her from doing trials

Tulisa candidly opened up about the symptoms she experienced with the medical condition ahead of entering the jungle

We're all clearly very excited to tune into the first episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and see how this year's batch of celebs fare Down Under.

Now, ever since ITV dropped the official starting line-up earlier this week - we've been extremely eager to see the 10 stars take on a bunch of gruesome Bushtucker Trials, embark on some camp side drama and handle all the oddities that Ant and Dec are certain to throw their way.

The line-up features the likes Coleen Rooney, McFly singer Danny Jones, Strictly Come Dancing legend Oti Mabuse, Loose Women star Jane Moore, Radio 1's Dean McCullough, N-Dubz front-woman Tulisa and boxing promoter Barry McGuigan.

We can also look forward to Radio DJ Melvin Odoom, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, and internet sensation GK Barry joining the gang Down Under.

However, Tulisa's life-long health condition could potentially prevent her from doing trials.

The 36-year-old 'Girls' singer, who was also a former judge on the X Factor, opened up about being diagnosed with Bell’s palsy back in 2020 which the NHS describes as a 'temporary weakness or lack of movement that usually affects one side of the face'.

Symptoms include; not being able to move one side of your face which usually happens over a few days, a drooping eyelid or corner of your mouth, drooling, dry mouth, loss of taste and a dry or watering eye.

Speaking on Olivia Attwood's So Wrong It's Right podcast earlier this month, she shared: "I've no idea what they were caused by, they weren't filler, they were just self-occurring, but I came out of the operation and instantly my face was less swollen.

"There's some still there so I still have the inflammation but it's way less. In the next two months [the doctor’s] going to go in to get those ones."

Tulisa also opened up on some symptoms she experienced during the N-Dubz reunion in 2022, saying: "I would have like tingling sensations like little ants crawling in my face.

"I started seeing doctors all around the UK - 'something's wrong with me, what's wrong with my face' - it was so scary. This went all the way up until this year it was horrific.

"I constantly felt like my cheek was on fire. I'd have good days and bad days and on some days, I'd take steroids, which would bring it down."

She continued: "When I was doing that N-Dubz run it was at its worst, so you might see an interview, I look normal. And then you see another interview, it's like, what the hell is going on with my face?

"And I’ve had all these health problems for years - sarcoidosis, immune disorders - and this explains all the symptoms that I was getting and could have been causing Bell’s palsy because in total there was, I think, six of them.

"They could have been growing over the years, actually triggering the Bell’s."

Tulisa also cleared up exactly what cosmetic work she's had done, adding: "Right now, I only have filler in my lips.

"There's no filler anywhere else in my face and I've never spoken about this publicly as I only discovered what was really going on this year."
