MAFS UK contestant makes one request to fans after controversial episode leaves viewers in shock

MAFS UK contestant makes one request to fans after controversial episode leaves viewers in shock

The Married at First Sight dinner party saw tensions rise to the surface

The explosive new series of Married at First Sight UK has viewers making a very specific request about one cast member.

Last night's explosive dinner party (1 October) showed the newlywed couples catching up with one another and dishing the dirt on the highs and lows of married life.

While some couples - namely Kristina and Kieran - seemed to be going strong, with the latter admitting he can see himself 'falling for' his wife, the same couldn't be said for everyone.

Tense scenes showed a row between Polly and Adam, who struggled to navigate a conversation about getting out of 'the friend zone'.

But by far the most explosive scenes of the night were between wives Eve and Charlie.

Earlier scenes had shown the two fall out after the love experts had asked them to write letters to each other discussing their lives and their relationship.

Charlie opened up to Eve about the effect of her parents split, as well as her subsequent estrangement from her dad - then, shockingly, Eve said she hadn't even written a letter.

It ended in a row, with viewers calling Eve a 'gaslighter'.

During the dinner party, it emerged that Eve had been talking about the arguments within her marriage to some of the fellow brides, which resulted in Poppy calling Charlie a 'bully' as a result - something Eve thanked Poppy for.

Charlie responded to the rumours by explaining to Eve that she felt she had lied and portrayed her too harshly.

She pleaded with her wife: "You didn't tell me that you thought I was a bully. You haven't even given me a chance to even build a relationship with them."

Through tears, Charlie added: "I can't do this. I can't do this anymore."

Eve's cold response to the altercation - which led to Charlie leaving the room - has left a sour taste in many viewers' mouths.

One person wrote on X: "Can they just send Eve home NOW and save Charlie the mental torture."

Another added: "We've seen an awful lot of toxic masculinity this series of #MAFSUK but I think Eve is quite the gaslighter."

While a third said: "Thanking a random person for calling your wife a bully is f*****g repulsive behaviour."

"Eve needs therapy, not a wife. Nor TV fame. Nor any mates to back her up. Disgusting human being."

Following the scenes airing and some viewers criticising Polly for her behaviour, Charlie has issued a statement on social media.

She wrote: "I’m sorry I’ve been super quiet! But it’s just been A LOT. The support has been overwhelming and I can’t thank you all enough.

"Second dinner party… Buckle in!

"Please can I just ask that you are kind to my fellow cast members. Time has passed and none of this was their fault."
