Following their shock exit from the reality love experiment last night, MAFS UK star Kieran Chapman has publicly apologised to 'ex-wife' Kristina Goodsell for not being the support system 'that she needs'.
And even more interestingly, Kristina has also responded to her former flame's controversial Instagram statement - in which he also insisted that he 'doesn't regret' ending the relationship.
For those out of the loop with the Channel 4 hit's goings-on, despite starting off the September series as one of the line-up's strongest couples, Kieran and Kristina have endured a rocky road to romance in recent weeks.
It all started going wrong for the pair after Kristina made a brave confession about her ongoing battle with PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), to which Kieran replied by insisting he might not be able to 'sustain' a relationship with someone who has PMDD.

Later, things seemed to go from bad to worse for the pair, with Kieran jokingly kissing another bride which left Kristina gutted. He also then made a list of the ways she compared to another of his ex-girlfriends.
On top of that, it all came to blows last week when Kieran began expressing serious doubts over their future together, admitting he'd hate to realise too late that he'd been 'wasting time' with the wrong person.
During last night's instalment, the pair finally reached the end of the road romance-wise, both voting to 'Leave' the experiment.
"I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving this your all," Kieran told Kristina in a tear-jerking final discussion with the show's resident relationship. "I just genuinely wish you the best for the future. Don't change for anyone."

To which Kristina replied: "Thank you for the most magical, amazing day of my life at our wedding. I'm gutted but I do only wish you the best. You'll be in my life. Don't worry."
Following that announcement, fans were surprised when Kieran shared a rather 'blunt' statement about their split on social media.
Sharing a collection of snaps, the mechanic penned: "Tonight me and @kristinagoodsell left the experiment. Is there a better wife on this series that I could have been matched with? No."
He added, however: "Do I regret letting Kristina go? No."

Kieran went on: "This sounds brutal, I know.. but I wasn’t the man for Kristina, and she deserves someone to put her on a pedestal. Someone who can give their whole self to her, someone who can support her through the highs and lows. But I’m afraid that just isn’t me anymore.
"In the past absolutely, I wanted to be a healer, a helper, someone’s world..."
In one final note, the 28-year-old gushed: "Our wedding day, to date, was the most magical day of my life, and I will be forever grateful that it was you who came down the aisle.
"You and I smiled from ear to ear, a long with all of our loved ones AND the production team, and we went back to the hotel with our cheeks in our hands because they were hurting off grinning ALL day.

"A massive thank you to @channel4 and all involved for bringing Kristina into all of our lives, whether that’s in person, or on our screens. Anyone who is ever lucky enough to meet you is blessed."
He continued: "Keep being you, Keep spreading your happiness, you are infectious.
"I’m not saying I’m the only one to ever go through really bad times in my life, not at all, but what I did go through has taught me exactly what I want and need from a partner, and although Kristina has a lot of gorgeous qualities, and is a beautiful human, I just can’t be the support that she needs, and that’s really sad.
"Obviously we signed up for a marriage, with the happy ever after and although it didn’t work, we are very good friends. She knows I’m on the other end of the phone if she ever needs me, and same vice versa."

Speaking directly to Kristina, Kieran also addressed some of the mistakes he came under fire for on the show.
"Kristina, first of all I’m sorry," he wrote. "I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there for you, I’m sorry that I’ve been trying to decide over the last couple of weeks whether I have it in me or not.
"I’m sorry I voiced that you have similarities to a previous relationship, and I never meant to compare you. I’m just sorry I couldn’t make it work."
By the sounds of things, not everyone was thrilled with Kieran's response.
"I guess we will never know the truth but those were some really lame excuses," one social media user wrote. "No honesty in his little speech just frantically searching for a way out. Let her down so badly. Disappointing."
Another added: "You treated her badly, made a mug of her.
"She let herself be vulnerable and you decided she wasn’t enough. I backed you in this show from the very start & feel like you’ve missed out on a wonderful genuinely supportive wife".
Despite the upfrontness of Kieran's comment, Kristina subsequently took to the comments of his post, writing: "Guys please stop this negativity - I’m thriving and so is Kieran in our own ways and celebrating each other for how far we’ve both come xxx."
