MAFS UK viewers ‘work out’ why Ross always looks to the side during chaotic episodes

MAFS UK viewers ‘work out’ why Ross always looks to the side during chaotic episodes

Ross is married to Sacha Jones on the dating show

MAFS UK viewers think they've worked out why Ross McCarthy often 'looks sideways' during chaotic scenes in the show.

Ross is married to Sacha Jones on the Channel 4 dating series, but the pair have been on rocky ground recently after a string of incidents with fellow groom, Alex Henry, who left the show during the last commitment ceremony.

Although they seem to have smoothed out their differences, Sacha was deeply upset with Ross when she felt that he didn't stick up for her during an argument with Alex.

Adding fuel to the fire, a photo later emerged of Ross with his arm around bride, Lacey, who was sat alongside Emma and Kristina.

Sacha was devastated by the picture, with Ross explaining that it was totally innocent and he was simply squeezing in for the photo.

After sorting out their own issues, the most recent episode of MAFS UK saw Sacha and Ross trying to support Kieran and Kristina, who are going through a bit of a rocky patch.

The couples both swapped partners for wife swap week, but decided to meet up for a double date. But it didn't go as planned, with Kieran and Kristina getting into a huge row when Kieran said his wife was 'just like his ex-girlfriend'.

At one moment during the row, Ross - who is the first deaf participant in the show - seemed to be looking away from the group.

Now, anyone who's watched this season of MAFS UK will know it's filled with drama and chaos.

Often, arguments are erupting, multiple people are talking over one another and - especially at dinner parties - the conversations can get pretty tense.

It's led some viewers to wonder whether Ross might have an interpreter off-camera.

One person wrote on Reddit: "All season I have been curious about whether there is an off camera sign language interpreter so that Ross can follow all the different folks who are speaking (sometimes at once). Does anyone have a sense of how production is handling this?"

One person responded: "Yes I noticed him looking off to the side as well and that is one of the things that had me curious."

And a third said on X: "Is there a sign language person at the commitment ceremonies so Ross knows what’s being said?"

Tyla has reached out to Channel 4 for comment.
