The bizarre reason why Married At First Sight UK star Ryan Livesey left the show in a shock exit has been revealed.
Like all other couples participating in the social experiment, Ryan and his bride Sionainn Carmichael first met at the altar, when the wife-to-be got a serious case of cold feet.
Before meeting his wife, Ryan said he was looking for somebody ‘down to earth’ and ‘grounded’, adding: “My parents would love me to be with someone that’s just honest in themselves and not bigger than who they are."
Thankfully, they eventually seemed to move past Sionainn's worries as Channel 4 viewers watched the couple work their way through the series - but it seems as though things took a turn for the worst.

During Wednesday night's episode, Ryan opened up to the other grooms about an explosive argument he'd had with his partner, dropping the bombshell that he was exiting the show.
He said: “I'm leaving boys. We've had a proper argument and I was trying to do my laces.
“I was trying to retie my laces and it was getting on my nerves. So Sionainn was trying to help me. So I said, 'Oh just leave them, just leave them now.'”

He continued: “And she said, 'Oh don't speak to me like that.' She said to me she doesn't feel comfortable in the relationship and she doesn't know if I'm here for a genuine reason.”
Sionainn also confided in brides Emma and Lacey about the spat.
She said: “We had like a little fall out yesterday. And it was like, honestly over shoelaces, he just spoke to me really, really poorly.”
Who thought that shoelaces could contribute to the end of an on-screen marriage, eh?!

However, it looks like there was much more to the breakup than meets the eye, with Ryan explaining more about his decision in a heartfelt statement on Instagram after the episode aired.
Discussing why he made the decision to leave, he began: "Writing this is difficult, and to be honest, I'm not sure where to begin.
"The process of Married at First Sight is intense and an emotional rollercoaster and I genuinely believe I tried my absolute best throughout the whole process."

The reality TV star continued: "I was starting to develop real feelings and it meant a lot to hear Sionainn say she felt 'safe and comfortable' around me. This is something I truly pride myself on, not only as a man but also as a dad.
"I wish things would have turned out differently but now feels like the right time for myself and Sionainn to leave the experiment and I wish her all the best for the future."
Reflecting on the experience, he added: "I will always be grateful for the experience and the opportunity to learn and grow as a person as I continue to take these life lessons into my future."
