MAFS UK’s Tasha splits from husband Paul after a year for heartbreaking reason

MAFS UK’s Tasha splits from husband Paul after a year for heartbreaking reason

Tasha Jay and Paul Liba, who appeared on MAFS UK last year, have called time on their relationship after a year

Another MAFS couple has bitten the dust, and this time it’s a fan favourite.

When contestants of the hit dating show are paired together from the powers that are the relationship experts, sometimes it just doesn’t go to plan. From arguments to anger issues, there appears to be a plethora of reasons why some couples just can’t make it past their issues.

Now, the latest couple to 'file for divorce' is Married at First Sight stars Tasha Jay and Paul Liba.

The couple first joined the show last year for the 2023 line-up and began their story like every other paired match, who walked down the aisle in front of their friends and family without knowing who would be there waiting for them.

When they both went from strength to strength, fans were so happy and even more thrilled when the couple decided to make things work when the cameras stopped rolling.

Even though she was having a great time with her on-screen hubby, Tasha was actually caught up in some MAFS drama and was forced to shut down rumours she was dating co-star, Arthur Poremba shortly after the experiment came to a close.

At the time, while Tasha married Paul Liba at the very beginning of the series, Arthur was paired up with Laura Vaughan.

But when Tasha and several other MAFS co-stars went out to London's Libertine club to celebrate Arthur's birthday, Tasha uploaded a series of snaps to her Instagram, which included shots of her and Arthur holding hands as they walked down Oxford Street.

It caused such a stir that she had to set things straight and confirm that they were absolutely nothing but friends. Fair enough, right?

However, something changed within the last year since the season ended and Tasha and Paul have now decided to call it quits for a heartbreaking reason.

The star took to her Instagram Stories to say that she and Paul would stay friends, but they couldn’t move forward as man and wife.

She wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that Paul and I have decided to part ways. There isn’t any major reason, we have just come to terms with the fact that we are not right for each other.

"Paul is the loveliest guy I’ve ever met and I’m grateful for the time we’ve shared together and I’m glad that we can remain friends. I’m utterly heartbroken that I’m having to write this post, but it is best for both of us.”

She added: "Thank you to everyone who has supported us as a couple. I hope you can now support us on our individual journeys. Love you all Tasha Jay x."

Paul also shared his version on his own Instagram Story, with a small alteration to the text to compliment Tasha.

He said: “Tasha is the most loving and caring woman I’ve ever met and I’m grateful for the time we’ve shared together and I’m glad that we can remain friends.”

It comes after 2024's Sacha Jones and Ross McCarthy announced their shock split, with the Walsall queen citing that it was a very unhappy time for her.

According to the former couple, there wasn’t really any big reason for their split. Simply put, they were ‘not right for each other’.
