Erik Menendez’s wife Tammi has spoken out with a message for followers of the case after the brothers' new Netflix documentary landed on Netflix.
Ryan Murphy's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story dropped last month while the brand-new documentary, The Menendez Brothers, just landed on the streaming giant today (7 October).
Erik and Lyle are currently serving life sentences without the possibility of parole and claim that the 1989 murders of their parents stemmed out of fear from a lifetime of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
Since then, potential new evidence has emerged that could support the Menendez brothers' sexual abuse claims and lead to retrial.

Erik and Lyle have filed a habeas corpus petition, a legal process which determines whether or not someone's imprisonment is lawful.
Erik married his wife Tammi after she first made contact to him while he was behind bars in 1993.
She was actually married to another man, Chuck, at this time and the two had their daughter, Talia together.

Following Chuck's death, Tammi and Erik finally met in person in 1997 before tying the knot two years later.
Both Tammi and Talia are now advocating for Erik and Lyle's freedom on social media.
The last and only other post on Tammi's Instagram before her most recent is from way back in 2021.

But it would appear that now, following the release of Monsters and the new Netflix doc, that she has broken her silence on the harrowing case.
Tammi took to Instagram earlier today (7 October) to share a message to her supporters.
She posted an old photo of her and Erik captioning the post: "Thank you all for raising your voices in support of Erik and Lyle’s ongoing fight for freedom.

"This is a pivotal moment for them."
Tammi continued: "If we want to see both Erik and Lyle freed, now is the time to unite and amplify our voices.
"The urgency of this situation calls for our collective energy and support. Let’s place our faith in the District Attorney’s office and continue to pray for a positive outcome!"
Talia has also recently shared an update on social media after receiving 'hate' messages online, which reads: "I've received an outpouring of love and support in my messages, and while I appreciate it deeply, I won't deny that the negative comments affect me a bit."

"I'm a kind hearted person and truly believe that what you put out into the world comes back to you."
She admitted that she's 'not accustomed' to receiving 'such hurtful remarks' adding: "To many he may be 'Erik Menendez', but to me, he's simply my dad, and I grew up with the reality of having an incarcerated father.
"Thank you to everyone who stands by me and sends such thoughtful
messages, your support means everything to us."
In a follow-up story statement, Talia added: "The hate will not be tolerated on this page."
