If you're looking for a change of scenery after two years of lockdowns and quarantining - let's face it, who hasn't? - then we might have just found the perfect job for you!
Make your dream getaway last forever by skipping the hotels and Airbnbs and take a look at house sitting.
Not only will you get to immerse yourself in your destination's culture and day-to-day life by opting to live in someone else's property, but by offering to house-sit, you save serious travel money by having somewhere to stay for free!

Sound good? We think so...
Simply have a browse of the popular house-sitting websites like TrustedHousesitters or MindMyHouse, make an account, and take your pick from the range of homes available.
Different filters on the website will let you choose your ideal location and specify how long you're hoping to house-sit for.

Just bear in mind that house-sitting often comes with the responsibility of minding the property-owner's precious pets - so if you're not an animal person, your choices may be a little bit slimmer.
While some house sitting pages require aspiring house-sitters to pay an annual fee, others are free. But even if you do end up paying to use a house sitting data base, if you take on enough jobs over the year you could really make it worth your while.
If you want a taste of big city life, you could organise to cat-sit for a week in a gorgeous one-bedroom in the heart of New York City.

For something on the sunny side, you might organise to house-sit for an adventurous couple in their Tuscan farmhouse, taking care of their three beautiful pups and soaking up the sun.
Or if you're looking for something a little bit more adventurous, why not jet off to Sydney, Australia for a month this summer to take care of a couple's loveable Greyhound (and enjoy their fabulous Marouba Beach apartment, too)?
No matter where in the world you want to go, and how long you want to go for, there's a perfect house-sitting set up for you.

Happy pet-sitting!
If you're looking for a more straight-forward getaway with no jobs involved, and are willing to spend some extra dough, then maybe a classic Airbnb trip is right for you.
Last week, we told you about the coolest new addition to the holiday rental sight, modelled after popular Australian children's programme Bluey.
The bright yellow house, located in Brisbane, Queensland, was “recreated – for real life” for two adults and two children to call home for a weekend and it looks absolutely adorable.

International fans of the show, however, might be disappointed, as the rental is only available to Australian residents.
You can book the Airbnb here, on a first-come-first-served basis.
