Life comes at you fast, and so does the insatiable need to know every kitchen hack under the sun.

Whether it's the most genius way to get rid of all the dirt and grease in your air fryer, or the 5p trick that guarantees a sparkling clean oven in just 10 minutes, I'm all ears.

Gone are the days of living young, wild and free, now I just want to make sure my home is spotless.

When you don't have someone on hand to call up and ask about the best way to achieve total pride in your living space, social media is your best friend.

We're spoiled with nifty hacks and household tips, and the latest on how to make sure your boiling pot on the stove doesn't overflow with water is mind-bogglingly brilliant stuff - and no, it doesn't involve a spoon.

Leanne Neiland, who posts on Instagram as @home.with.leanne, posts hacks, creative ideas and practical tips for your home.

One of her most recent videos, titled '3 kitchen hacks you'll wish you knew sooner', explains how to stop your pot from boiling over.

She explains that it's as simple as adding oil to the rim of the pot. This will prevent the water bubbling and boiling over and waiting for your spaghetti to cook will be much less stressful.

In another hack, Leanne suggested placing a layer of tin foil to the bottom of the sink before emptying a pan into it, in order to catch all of the 'juices' and be able to dispose of them neatly and avoid blocked drains.

Genius to be honest.

But it didn't quite end there.

Leanne had another pearl of wisdom to share - and this was all about jars and our food consumption.

She simply suggested writing the date that you opened the jar on the bottom of it, so you can keep better track of use by dates and avoid any upset tummies.

It sounds so simple but the best hacks usually are.

A total lightbulb moment occurred after learning all three.

People on Instagram took to the comments to share their gratitude.

One person wrote: "Oh wow! Definitely need to try the oil around the rim trick!"

Another said: "Oh the oil one! I try the spoon over the top but doesn’t always work."

A third chimed: "These are perfect hacks."

And a fourth simply wrote: "You are so clever."

Agreed!
