With the colder weather in full-effect, drivers will now have to contend with foggy windows, especially in the cold mornings.
Fear not, because there’s an easy peasy way to clear your car windows from the comfort of your motor. Check it out:
The first step is to turn on your defroster - most modern cars have defrosters these days. Then you must turn up the car’s heating.

If your car has air conditioning, the third step is to turn it on, which may seem counterproductive in a coldsnap but there’s a method to the madness.
Finally, you must turn off recirculating air. Don’t be embarrassed if you don’t know exactly what the air-recirculation button does, we’re willing to bet not many people do either.
The button in your motor with the arrow going in a circle is the air-recirculation button. It basically cuts off the outside air to the inside of the car ‘recirculating’ air inside your vehicle. The button can be used to make the interior of your car get as cold as possible as quickly as possible. It also helps to make sure that the AC works at its best level.

Normally it’s recommended that drivers should use the air-recirculation button whenever it’s hot outside or if they’re in dense traffic to prevent pollution.
However putting on the AC and the air-recirculation button definitely helped to clear the windows. Although the TikToker who posted the hack, @rugesauto, didn’t reveal how quickly their windows cleared, the whole hack only took for easy steps.
As you can imagine, drivers are eternally grateful and have taken to the comments after using the hack themselves.
“Appreciate it! I looked like a crazy woman using the wipers on a sunny morning lol,” one TikToker shared.

“Saved my life,” another social media user wrote along with the prayer emojis.
A driver asked what they should do if their car’s A/C doesn’t work, which is totally relevant especially if your car doesn’t have A/C in the first place. The uploader replied: “It definitely takes longer without A/C! But you can try cracking your window, turn the defroster on, turn off recirculating air!”
“You literally just saved me, thank you!” another commenter said.

While someone else shared: “Holy sh*t it actually works!!! Thanks.”
We're literally trying this tomorrow!
