The notion that no woman's life is complete without one day welcoming a child is - thankfully - starting to be considered a damaging, stone age philosophy.
And for the first time in history, we're seeing more and more ladies ditching societal conventions surround motherhood and owning the fact that they don't want kids.
This said, one 'proudly child-free' woman from Australia has recently been subjected to a tidal wave of accusations of 'mum-shaming' following a controversial Instagram upload.
This isn't the first time that model and social media star Ellie Gonsalves had hit the headlines for ruffling the feathers of her parent followers.

Just before Christmas, the 33-year-old divided opinion by posting a list of 178 reasons why she never wants children on Instagram.
Whilst some understood the comedic element to Ellie's lengthy list, she was hit with immediate backlash from many mums that were offended by her choices.
And just two months later, the Aussie once again found herself in hot water over another contentious online upload.
The video, uploaded last week, sees her comparing the arduous task of dressing a restless baby with her well-behaved Pomeranian puppy.

Being that she'd stitched her calm and collected dog video with a chaotic clip of a social media-using baby-mum, she was accused of making a mockery of motherhood.
Ellie's video has since sparked a huge debate in the comment section, with mant viewers accusing her of posting insensitive content.

"I’ll never understand people who feel the need to put down someone else’s decision in some way to validate their own decisions," one penned.
Another hit out: "Not all kids are like that and not all dogs are like that. Making children look like demons to validate your decision to not have them seems a little icky."
Others, on the other hand, opted not to take Ellie's notes too personally.

"I honestly don’t understand all the comments against these posts? There are so many mommy bloggers you can follow if you want to see people happy with the choice to have children. It’s not that deep," one defended her.
Well, Ellie has since spoken out about the backlash she's received regarding her views and posts online, telling The Project she'd been 'called everything under the sun' over her thoughts on parenthood.
"So if I’m that person that can have a voice and make people feel seen and heard who feel the way that I do then that’s amazing," she continued at the time.
Regardless of whether or not someone decides to have children, we should all be supportive of one another no matter what!
