The pensioner who proudly married her Egyptian toyboy has revealed they have now split after two years together as husband and wife.
Iris Jones, 83, became a national icon after she appeared on This Morning to share her story, having been unafraid to hold back as she discussed her relationship with Mohamed Ahmed Ibriham, 37.

The pair first struck up a connection after first meeting on Facebook in 2019, and the following year Iris travelled to Egypt to marry her younger lover - a union they celebrated at a local KFC.
She sent viewers into a frenzy when she appeared on the talk show a number of times, revealing a little more than people had bargained for as she discussed their sex life – including their love for KY jelly, having boldly admitted to getting through a whole rub of the stuff in one night.
Iris told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that her family didn't approve of the relationship, saying at the time she was 'getting the silent treatment', but that all that mattered was that she and Mohamed love each other.

But while Iris says they used to have a ‘great sex life’, she has since realised she is no longer a ‘lovesick teenager’, and just wants a peaceful life with her new cat.
She told Closer: “I never expected to fall in love with someone 46 years younger than me, but I did. I adored everything about Mohamed.
“But it became hard work. We used to have a great sex life but then, rather than making love, we ended up arguing all the time about anything and everything. I can’t be doing with that. I’m not a lovesick teenager. I’m 83.”

Iris said she got her pet cat Mr Tibbs just days after Mohamed left, saying she was the ideal companion for a number of reasons.
She continued: “I got him just a few days after Mohamed moved out and he’s the perfect companion. He never complains, is very quiet and beautiful to look at – I adore him. And he’s very happy here and doesn’t create a mess.”
But while the pensioner’s not suffering too much heartache, there is one thing she’s mad at her former lover for.

She added: “I’m not missing Mohamed at all, the thing that annoyed me the most when he left was he took my tempura battered prawns that I’d planned for my dinner that night.”
I think we can all agree that is one step too far.
