A woman has revealed the red flags she spotted in her serial killer ex-husband, who murdered three teenage girls.
Learning about serial killers and true crime is a fascination many of us have, but being married to a real-life serial killer has got to be a whole different experience.
Bonnie Lou, a writer who was married to serial killer Richard Evonitz, has now revealed the major red flags she noticed throughout their relationship.

Bonnie was just 17 when she wed Evonitz in 1988. Throughout their marriage, which lasted just under a decade, she encountered numerous red flags that she overlooked at the time.
She plans to write a book about her horrendous ordeal with the killer, but for now has chosen to share parts of her story on TikTok.
Despite not being the victim of physical abuse throughout the relationship, Evonitz mentally tormented Bonnie.

One of the biggest red flags she suffered was Evonitz controlling every aspect of her life.
This included attending college, working, making new friends, and even her weight.
In a video, she said: “He really limited the amount of money I was allowed to spend on phone calls to my family.
“He started picking on me about my weight, telling me I was fat and I needed to join WeightWatchers.

“Not having a lot of friends or anybody who I could talk to about my relationship - I really didn’t know how different it was from the average marriage, and I really didn’t have anybody to bounce things off of and find out what was normal, which I think was probably exactly what he wanted.”
He also demanded she get a job, but also be back at home by 4pm for when he returned home himself.
One of the biggest alarm bells for Bonnie, was when he asked if she would be willing to flee the country with him.

Bonnie recalled: "I said, 'Well I guess so. We're married. Why would I stay here? Of course I'm going to go with you."
"As soon as I said that he breathed a big sigh of relief."
After relocating to Virginia, Evonitz abducted and killed 16-year-old Sofia Marlene Silva in 1996.
Her body was discovered a month later in a roadside creek.

The following year, the killer abducted and murdered 15-year-old Kristin Michelle Lisk, and her 12-year-old sister Kathryn Nicole Lisk.
He sexually assaulted and strangled both girls before disposing of their bodies in a river.
Despite not sharing her whole story, Bonnie noted that she divorced Evonitz and remarried before his killing spree ended in 2002.
