A Londoner decided to swap capital city prices for sun, sea and sangria by paying just £30 to fly to Spain for a day out by the beach.
Between taxis, food and drinks the cost of a day out in the UK can quickly start to rack up, and one person who knows this all too well is 27-year-old Taneshia Deckon, from North London.

Looking to have a day out with her mates, Taneshia started to think about how the group could get the most for their money.
"We thought about just going to another city in the UK, but it's just so expensive right now," she said. "We realised it's cheaper to fly abroad - sometimes there's better weather as well."
The friends looked at flights and realised they could hop on a return budget flight to Mallorca for just £30, so for them, it was a no brainer.

"You would easily spend over £100 doing something in London. We'd booked a day spa previously in the UK which was £80 just for the spa alone. A day out in London is more expensive than a day out in Mallorca," Taneshia explained.
The group spent less than £100 each during their exotic day trip, and managed to enjoy a bit of sun, culture and local food while they were at it.
They only took their handbags as luggage and were back in time for work the next day.

"It's better to go abroad for the same price and you get that cultural experience too," Taneshia said.
"It wasn’t expensive at all, considering we were in Mallorca, the food and drinks weren’t expensive.
"It's shocking how cheap you can get these flights, it's just knowing where and how to find them, and also going out of season helps as it's quiet.
"It was beautiful weather, we had a lot of sun and didn't need to wear our jackets. We left England in the rain, flew to the sun and came back to the rain."

With the airport located close to both the beach and the mall, the friends were able to enjoy a bit of shopping before they went to the beach.
"[We] took some photos and drank sangria and ate paella, calamari, and patatas bravas. We were able to eat traditional Spanish food.
"I can speak Spanish, so it was also a good opportunity to speak some," Taneshia added.

After returning home, the group all headed to work the next day as normal.
"It's just crazy that it's cheaper to fly to Spain than go for a day out in London," Taneshia said.
It might be crazy, but at least it provides a good excuse to get out of England!
