The Range shoppers discover 'hidden name' in store's logo

Shoppers say they 'can't unsee' the name

Shoppers have said they ‘can’t unsee’ a new name for The Range after making an observation about its sign.

OK, so take a look at the logo - fairly basic, right? It’s got the brand name and in front of it is a circle with an R in it, presumably standing for Range. Simple.

Except, one social media user couldn't help but see that circle as the letter O, meaning the sign now reads: ORange or Orange. Can you see it now?

In the viral post from a few years back, one woman even questioned if we’d actually been misnaming the shop all along.

In the Facebook post, she wrote: "So I blew my own mind today. I realised that The Range has an R in an orange circle as their logo, but I can't unsee it as saying anything other than Orange now?

"Has it been called The Orange all along and we’ve not noticed? Honestly, I am baffled. Someone please explain this to me and restore my faith in humanity."

One shopper questioned the name of the shop.

And it soon turned out she wasn’t alone - responding to the post, one fellow Facebook user wrote: “I see what you mean! I've never noticed that before."

Another said: "Wish I'd never read this because now it's all I can see."

While someone else commented: "I actually called the Range 'Orange' for the first few weeks after it opened until someone corrected me. It's a bit of a rubbish logo!"

The post ended up going viral and with such widespread confusion about whether it was called The Orange or The Range, the company itself decided to wade in to clear up the matter - and you might be pleased to learn that you probably haven’t been calling it by the wrong name all this time.

In a post on the company’s official Instagram page, The Range explained: "We've received so many messages about this viral post. It's taken you all a while to notice! We do love the colour O-Range but all jokes aside we are officially called 'The Range'."

So, that’s cleared that up then - or not, because a few cheeky customers were quick to pipe up and say they'd be using the 'new name' anyway.

One person said: "Calling it The Range is old school. It's The Orange for me from now on."

Another commented: "Wait, what? Now I will only refer to it as Orange."
