In the unlikely scenario that you ever find yourself on death row, have you considered what you'd choose to be your final meal before execution?
A roast dinner with lashings of gravy perhaps? Maybe a large Domino's pepperoni pizza with an extra pot of garlic and herb dip would be your go-to? Or you could forget about main courses altogether and skip straight to puddings?
For most of us, it's a choice we'll never actually have to make, but for thousands of condemned prisoners in the US, the decision has been all too real.

However, there was a reason behind the decision, as he apparently told guards that he'd hoped an olive tree would grow from his grave as 'a sign of peace'.
Gary Carl Simmons Jr
In 1996, Gary Carl Simmons Jr, nicknamed 'The Butcher', faced the lethal injection for dismembering a body with his butcher's knives and scattering the remains in an alligator-infested bayou, leading him to be sentenced to death in 1997.
