Nicolas Cage - the ex-husband of Lisa Marie Presley - has issued a statement following the sudden death of the singer and Elvis' daughter.
The world of music was left in shock yesterday (12 January), as it was announced Lisa Marie went into cardiac arrest and later died at the age of 54.
Cage and Lisa Marie had a brief spell together after they first began dating in 2001, before splitting in 2002.

The pair did eventually get back together, and tied the knot in August 2002.
But the marriage was very much short lived, as Cage filled for a divorce just three months later in November 2002, which was finalised in 2004.
Following the shock announcement of her passing, Cage has issued a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

He said: "This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met.
"She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin."
Cage was one of four men Lisa Marie married in her life, with her first marrying actor Danny Keough in October 1988.
After their divorced was finalised in 1994, Lisa Marie famously married Michael Jackson - though their marriage lasted two years until 1996.

Next up was Cage, with Michael Lockwood next in 2006. Their marriage lasted ten years as the pair called it quits in 2016.
At the time of her split with Cage, Lisa Marie released the following statement: "I'm sad about this, but we shouldn't have been married in the first place. It was a big mistake.
Cage spoke about the marriage in an interview with Barbara Walters in 2016, he said: "Oftentimes when you have two people who are very strong and their own personalities and rather intense, sometimes you can have a hard time meshing.

"It’s sad and I miss her every day.
"And sometimes I wish we couldn’t have rushed the marriage and sometimes I regret rushing the divorce, but it just seemed like it wasn’t going to change."
Announcing the tragic news last night, Priscilla Presley - Lisa Marie's mum - said: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known.

"We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."
