People are only just realising why Melania Trump’s inauguration outfit looks so familiar.
Earlier this afternoon (20 January), the incoming First Lady of the United States stepped out alongside Donald Trump and their son, Barron, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Lafayette Square, Washington D.C.
Melania was seen wearing a black and white ensemble - but it was her statement hat which really caught the attention of people online.
Rushing to social media to share their thoughts on the get-up, one X user who wasn't a fan of the hat hit out: "I don’t like the hat. You don't wear a hat in a church. I’m old fashioned."

Others, however, rushed in to defend Melania for the accessory choice with a second writing: "Melania’s hat! [fire emoji]."
"That hat!" exclaimed a third, while a fourth fan beamed: "Love Melania's hat! Why can't we all wear hats & gloves again? So stylish."
Another gushed: "Living for Melania’s hat moment."
"Melania’s 1920s style Gatsby hat is smoke show," echoed a final X user.

The hat has caused an even bigger stir online - given that people are comparing it to none other than Beyoncé's iconic 'Formation' outfit.
The hit track appeared on the singer's 2016 Lemonade album with the accompanying music video showing Bey rocking a similar wide-brim black hat which also covered a significant amount of her face.
After making the comparison, one fan dubbed Melania as being in 'her Lemonade era'.

"Ok ladies now let's get in formation," chirped a second quoting one of the song's lyrics, while a third likewise quipped: "YALL HATERS CORNY WITH THAT ILLUMINATI MESS."
A fourth echoed: "Not Melania gettin into formation."
"Ok Melania about to get in formation," added a final user.

Previously reflecting on the First Lady role, Melania told Fox: "I feel I was always me the first time as well, I just feel that people didn't accept me maybe.
"Maybe some people, they see me as just a wife of the president, but I'm standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts."
She continued: "I have my own yes and no. I don't always agree with what my husband is saying or doing. And that's OK."
Elsewhere in the chat, Melania outlined: "My first priority is, you know, to be a mum, to be a First Lady, to be a wife. And once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country."
