Former First Lady Michelle Obama has opened up about her ‘unusual’ marriage to Barack Obama while he was the President of the United States.
Having been his biggest supporter during his terms in the White House, Michelle has always been by Barack's side, and she's even made her own impact through her health initiatives, promoting nutrition and exercise.
But recently, rumours have been swirling that something isn’t right with the couple, who have been married since 1992 and share two daughters with each other.

Speculation that a split occurred began when Barack and Michelle were seen separately. She also did not accompany him to a diner in DC in January, to the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, as well as President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Shockingly, there were even rumours that he was dating Jennifer Aniston, 56, who denied the allegations on Jimmy Kimmel Live where she admitted she had ‘met him once’ and that she knows ‘Michelle more than him.’
However, the couple did go on to share a Valentine’s Day selfie last month on X, with the pair leaning against each other, smiling and writing equally loved-up things about one another.

So, it’s safe to say that they’re still going strong.
Anyway, Michelle has now opened up about her relationship with him, and particularly her struggles with coming to terms with his ambition to become the president.
The 61-year-old spoke with her brother, Craig Robinson on her podcast ‘IMO’ about her initial feelings, admitting that she had to be talked into supporting him.
She said that initially, she said ‘no way’ to her husband’s plans.

She also shared how her brother played a big part in her being able to cope with the White House life, stating: “I couldn’t have gotten through eight years in the White House without my big brother.”

For her, it was a surprise that their life would go on as it did, as she did not expect to become a first lady.
Michelle revealed: “Being married to the president of the United States [is a] thing that none of us kind of banked on. We knew Barack was smart and ambitious, but, you know.”

Turning to her brother, she also pinned him as the reason why she hopped on board with Barack’s plans to become president, telling him: “You talked me into supporting his run.
“And he [Barack] was smart enough to know that he needed to come to you and sell you on the idea. Because I was definitely like, no, no way.”
She and Barack began dating at the Chicago-based law firm Sidley Austin, and she opened up on her gripes with him.
It was his time management, which she admits has ‘improved over 30 years of marriage.’

She said: “Barack had to adjust to what ‘on time’ was. You know, I’ve got this husband who, when it’s time to leave, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom. And I was like, dude, like three o’clock departure means you’ve done all that. It’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses, you know, at the three o’clock departure.”
