The White House has sparked immense outrage online after sharing a 'sickening' 'ASMR' video.
Earlier this week on Tuesday (18 February), the official Twitter account for the White House posted a video which has since gone viral on the social media platform for all the wrong reasons.
ASMR, which is a nonclinical term which stands for' 'Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response', refers to a pleasant, tingling sensation that usually begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine some people experience when watching and listening to videos with particular sounds.

Popular videos shared across platforms like Instagram and TikTok involve whispering, hair brushing, finger tapping and chewing.
But the White House's video, which it described in the caption as 'ASMR', has been described as 'cruel', 'evil' and sick'.

The account captioned the clip: "ASMR: Illegal Alien Deportation Flight," and it shows immigrants in shackles as they prepared to board a deportation flight from Seattle.

At one point in the video, which is 41 seconds long, a set of handcuffs and chains can be seen jingling as they are pulled from a basket, before being laid out on the airport tarmac next to four other sets of restraints.
Another shot shows a man with his hands cuffed in front of him with his ankles bound by a chain as he walks past an officer.
And a third shot sees a man having his handcuffs linked together before the camera pans to a man’s feet in chains as he walks up a stairway to a plane.
Among the 65.6 million viewers who saw the clip on X was none other than Tesla CEO Elon Musk who is a senior adviser to the president.

Commenting on the video, the 53-year-old wrote: "So based."
Shockingly, many showered the video with praise with one X user beaming: "Keep it up! Love this!
Meanwhile, another beamed: "Thank you send them all back!"
The majority of people, however, were seriously sickened by 'cruel' video with one X user writing: "And you’re telling me this isn’t a fascist dictatorship? Making 'ASMR' about a human being being deported is beyond cruel. That’s some cartoon type evil."

"If you enjoy this, you need to deeply reflect on the kind of person you aspire to be," urged a second while a third commented: "Why is treating human beings this way entertainment for you?"
Another hit out: "ASMR? Whomever decided to post this is truly a sick individual. Anyone know who signed off on this? This is not dignified."
And a final X user added: "This is so unbelievably tone deaf as to knowing what’s humour and what’s not.

"No matter where you stand politically, making light of a situation like this is cruel."
During his official address at the time, Trump made his plans for immigration clear, promising that 'all illegal entry will be halted' and that millions of 'criminal aliens' will be deported.
