For St. Patrick's Day today (17 March), the official Instagram account for the White House uploaded a surprising clip of the 36-year-old Irish MMA fighter - someone who US president Donald Trump recently revealed was his 'favourite' person from the Emerald Isle.
The clip was captioned: "HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY FROM CONOR MCGREGOR AT THE WHITE HOUSE!@TheNotoriousMMA." Take a look:
In the clip, McGregor could be seen strutting out of the White House in a green suit as he told the camera: "Happy Paddy's Day, America!"

The Instagram account soon after uploaded a follow-up post of McGregor holding a combat stance as he posed between a photo of Trump and his vice president, JD Vance.
Thousands of people have since rushed in to share their two cents on the series of posts with one person hitting out: "At this point, this is a meme page now..."
"The White House is a joke," slammed a second while a third agreed: "White House = Circus!"

A fourth echoed: "This is a meme page now."
"Is this a government or a reality tv show?" questioned a fifth while a sixth chimed in: "Has this page been hacked? It seems like all they post are memes."
A seventh pointed out: "This guy has cheated on his wife endlessly and was just found guilty of SA @thenotoriousmma. These are the type of people MAGA looks up to. Yikes."
"I have second hand embarrassment I can't believe this is real ," penned another.

And a final Instagram user added: "Wasn’t he just convicted of SA???"
In a recent civil case last year in November, a Dublin jury found McGregor liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018 and ordered him to pay her over €248,000 in damages.
Similarly, Trump was found liable for sexual assault in a civil court in 2023, after it was alleged he had sexually abused advice columnist E Jean Carroll in 1996.

Trump, who is also the first convicted felon to assume the presidency, was ordered to pay out $5 million in damages.
The abhorrent 'grab her by the p*ssy' controversy that came out during Trump's 2016 campaign also saw the president talk about groping women and saying that they 'love it'.
