Donald Trump's surprising link to Royal Family and late Queen as complex family tree explained

The Republican leader's ancestors hailed from the United Kingdom

He might be notorious for thinking of himself as royalty, but it turns out that Donald Trump might actually be onto something.

According to staggering new reports, the 78-year-old boasts several ancient connections to the British aristocracy - and more specifically, the late Queen Elizabeth II herself.

Throughout the US leader's first term in the White House - between 2017 and 2022 - he, wife Melania and the former monarch crossed paths during a number of state visits to the UK.

On a side note: it was during one of the President's stays at Buckingham Palace that The Queen supposedly surprised spectators by showing off her apparent knack for impersonating the Slovenian-born First Lady.

Anyway - as it turns out, Trump and Queen Elizabeth's relationship actually has quite the history.

According to a blindsiding new report, the pair's ancestors were closely linked in the 19th century, when Trump's distant relatives worked as farmers on Her late Majesty's sprawling Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

Reporters from the Suffolk Gazette allegedly traced the father-of-five's family tree going back many generations, and sifted through thousands of documents and old photographs before landing on his great, great-grandfather Archibald 'Archie' Trump.

Archie purchased eight acres of land in the village of West Newton in 1827, which he toiled with the help of his two sons Abraham and Henry until his death in 1879, aged 68.

The land was taken over by Henry - reportedly famed even then for his astute business acumen - who himself had one son, Isaac.

Isaac subsequently moved to the largely unpopulated Isle of Lewis in Scotland after his family sold the Norfolk farm to the Sandringham Estate, which had been the British Royal Family's countryside retreat since 1868.

Whilst living in Scotland, Isaac had three daughters, one of whom was named Mary Anne, who moved from the UK to America in 1930, where she worked as a house servant.

Mary Anne met and married successful property developer Frederick Trum, whose family had migrated from Germany to New York, six years later. The couple welcomed five children, the fourth, of whom went on to become the 45th and 47th President of the United States.

Trump began working at his father's real estate developing company, now known as The Trump Organization, which he later took over.

The Republican leader been married three times and welcomed five children, as well as 10 grandchildren, soon to be 11.

From his first marriage to Ivana Trump - nee Zelníčková, a Czech-American businesswoman who worked at The Trump Organization - he welcomed three children, Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric.

Donald Jr shares five kids with ex-wife Vanessa: Kai, Donald, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.

Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner have three children: Arabella, Joseph and Theodore.

Eric and wife Lara are parents to two kids: Eric Luke and Carolina.

From Trump's second marriage to Georgia-born actor and TV personality Marla Maples, he shares a single daughter, Tiffany.

Tiffany is currently expecting her first child with husband Michael Boulos.

The teenager is currently studying at New York University’s Stern School of Business following his graduation from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida last year.
