Euros viewers seriously divided after seeing what Prince George wore to final

Euros viewers seriously divided after seeing what Prince George wore to final

The Royal dad and son duo could be seen reacting with shock amidst England's defeat at the Euros final

The Euros final has come and gone, and while us England fans truly let ourselves believe that it was finally coming home, we've woken up today grieving about what could have been.

Yet, it seems the main talking point for some in regards to the final of the Euro 2024 isn't Englands loss, rather what Prince George wore to the match.

Time flies and the young Royal is already 10 years old, and accompanied his dad Prince William to the final in Berlin - with Spain winning 2-1.

He could be seen reacting with intense emotion as the truth began to set in that we wouldn't be taking home the coveted trophy.

Following the defeat, dad William took to X to share his thoughts.

He wrote: "This time it just wasn’t meant to be. We’re all still so proud of you. Onwards @England. W”

King Charles also weighed in, offering the following message of support: "Although victory may have eluded you this evening, nevertheless my wife and I join all my family in urging you and your support team to hold your heads high.

“All those who have participated in sporting activities at any level will know how utterly despairing such a result can feel when the prize was so near – and will join me in sending heartfelt sympathy, even as we congratulate Spain.

“But please know that your success in reaching the European Championship final is a really great achievement in itself, and one that brings with it the pride of a nation which will continue to roar for the Three Lions today – and in the many triumphs which I have no doubt lie ahead.

“Charles R.”

And while George is still too young to be taking to social media to share his thoughts, his outfit did get other people talking across various platforms.

He turned up to the match wearing a full suit alongside his dad - complete with a tie.

This led one user to express concern that he wasn't being allowed to dress in the way a usual 10-year-old would. But, of course, he's not a usual 10-year-old.

They wrote: "I wish they’d let Prince George wear kids clothes. It’s 2024 & he’s 10…." before adding: "Every kid in the country wearing an England shirt tonight except him."

Another person added: "Jesus give Prince George an England shirt FFS. Stop wheeling him out in a business suit."

This has prompted people to recall that back in 2021, George wore a suit to another game of the previous European Championships.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told OK! Magazine at the time: "“Prince William is George’s absolute hero.

"He thinks his dad’s the most perfect person on the planet."

He added: "George idolises his dad. That’s why we saw him looking so smart in his suit - he really wanted to dress like William."

Many have leapt to George's defence after his most recent suited-and-booted look.

Another person added: "He wants to dress like his dad, this is what Kate said after euro 2020 at Wembley.

She said he could have worn his England shirt but wanted to wear a tie and suit like dad does.."

While a third echoed: "He looks happy enough, let him be."
