The Princess of Wales' decision to shake things up this Mother's Day in terms on what she shares on social media has left many fans wondering the same thing - 'Why?'
For those who haven't yet caught wind of Kate's 2025 post, the mum-of-three shared emotional video crediting Mother Nature on social media yesterday (30 Mar), breaking her tradition of sharing family photos.
The clip - which omits her children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte - sees the 43-year-old touching the bark of a tree.

Her husband, Prince William, meanwhile, is seen from the back, walking through a forest with the family's dog, Orla.
"Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary," Kate captioned the video.
"This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C."

Now, any follower of the British monarchy will be well aware that Kate's latest post is world's away from her usual Mother's Day content.
But according to Royal author Robert Hardman, the decision to do things a little differently was likely very conscious, in response to last year's Photoshop mishap.
In 2024, Kate's inadvertently sparked global debate by sharing a photograph online her children that had been tampered with.
After keen-eyed viewers spotted a number of inaccuracies in the snap - including a distorted area near Charlotte's sleeve, patchy window panes, the window itself having no reflection, and Kate's zip stopping part way down her jacket - the Princess was forced to apologise.

The controversy came amid concerns for her wellbeing, after she spent the entirety of January, February and March away from the public eye, sparking outlandish theories over her whereabouts.

Kate later broke the news that she'd undergone planned abdominal surgery, received a cancer diagnosis, and receiving treatment behind the scenes.
According to Hardman, in light of last year's events, it's no surprise that the Princess took a different approach.

"It was a really ludicrous, over exaggerated response to something, particularly in an industry where doctored photos of celebrities are routine…" he told HELLO! today (31 Mar).
"They [the Wales'] grasped it very quickly. There was a quick turnaround the next day where I think she apologised. And I think that was the right thing to do."
The royal commentator continued: "And in the same way that the picture was very hands-on, so was the response.
"She took it on the chin, she dealt with it, and that was the end of it.

"I would have thought for her and for her and William, that's got to be one of the sort of the low points of what he [William] called a 'brutal year.'"
Kate's 2025 video is somewhat reminiscent of the clip she shared in September to reveal that she'd concluded with chemotherapy.
The video also starred William - as well as their three children - and saw the Wales' enjoying the outdoors, walking through woods and the couple cuddling as they hold hands.
"I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can," Kate said in the clip. "Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life."
In January, she announced that her cancer as now in remission.
