Meghan Markle was given warning by Suits star when he found out she started dating Prince Harry

Her co-stars warned her about what it would be like dating a Prince.

Meghan Markle's Suits co-star gave her a warning about getting 'hurt' upon the revelation that she was dating Prince Harry.

Prior to joining the Royal Family in 2018 when she and Prince Harry tied the knot, Meghan starred in the legal drama Suits, playing the character of Rachel Zane.

But it has been revealed that her fellow co-stars gave her a firm bit of relationship advice upon finding out that she had been dating the royal.

The duchess was in the show for seven series, but decided it was time to leave following her engagement to Harry in 2017.

When the couple were first linked together in 2016, people around the world were completely shocked at the thought of a royal dating a divorced, American actress - including members of his own family.

And several of her co-stars at the time knew the bombshell news before any of us.

They revealed their reactions on the Today show ahead of Meghan and Harry's royal wedding, sharing the details of what they advised the former actress when she informed them about her new relationship.

Rick Hoffman, who played Louis Litt on the show, said it was a surprise when he first found out.

"I had gotten the news early, and I was like, 'You got to be kidding me'.

"And it was like, both of us in the trailer like, 'Oh my. You're going - you're dating a prince?'"

After the shock value had died down a bit, he shared some important advice with Meghan, and said: "I was just like, 'Well, take it slow.

"Be careful. Don't let him hurt you'."

Sarah Rafferty added: "[She said] that he's lovely. You know, they're a great match. We worked so many years together on a show.

"We were with each other for longer than we went to college or high school. We became family in a way. We're still family. This is a wonderful family affair."

Her other co-star Gina Torres expressed the importance of them keeping the secret 'close to the vest'.

Suits ended in 2019, just two seasons after Meghan's departure.

The hit Netflix show has been a fan favourite for many years, with the series topping the top 10 most watched list for a month in 2023.

But fans are in still in hope of a reunion one day, after star Patrick J Adams refused to rule out the idea of the cast revisiting the show for one last time at a recent panel on 2 June.
