The Los Angeles wildfires have now tragically claimed the lives of five people

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be forced to evacuate their family home amid the Los Angeles wildfires despite their mansion's location.

The fire has destroyed a number of homes in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood prompting LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley to order more than 30,000 people to evacuate the area, with the roaring blaze spreading from 20 acres to more than 3,000 in a mere matter of hours.

Now, Harry and Meghan live about an hour or so away from the area in Montecito, which is home to a number of fellow Hollywood A-listers in addition to the royal couple, including the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ellen DeGeneres.

According to The Telegraph, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex faced 'power outages' in their Montecito mansion and even risked the 'prospect of evacuation if rapidly spreading wildfires reach their neighbourhood'.

The couple, who tied the knot back in 2018, lived in the 'high fire risk' property alongside their two young children, five-year-old Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, three, since 2020.

The outlet reports that a spokesman for one of the major power providers in the area, Southern California Edison (SCE), said it was considering power shutdowns because of 'Red Flag Warning and increased risk of wildfires' and also confirmed that 'affected customers' were being contacted in a number of communities, 'including Montecito'.

The latest celeb to lose their home in the fire is Paris Hilton who confirmed in an Instagram post that she and her husband Carter Reum’s young family - son Phoenix Barron and London Marilyn - were 'safe', before extending her condolences to other people affected by the fires.

"To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets," she commented. "My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable."

Before thanking the thousands of firefighters currently battling the Californian blaze, Hilton revealed members of her 11:11 Media Impact Team had already reached out to nonprofit organisations to 'figure out how we can best support the communities impacted by these fires'.

The wildfire, which began on Tuesday (7 January), has now tragically taken the lives of five people.

Red flag warnings issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles and Oxnard CA are expected to stay in place until tomorrow (10 January) with displaced residents remaining in limbo regarding their return to their neighbourhoods.

As per the BBC, 1,400 firefighters have been deployed, with surrounding states also providing first responders.
