In the wake of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle once again not attending Sandringham for Christmas due to their estrangement from members of the royal family, people have been revisiting a clip from Meghan's infamous Oprah interview.
Sitting down with the host after stepping back from their royal duties, Meghan, who is later joined by her husband, talks about her experience of being part of the royal family.
The bombshell interview detailed that Meghan had faced suicidal thoughts as a result of relentless public scrutiny, and her claim that a member of the royal household had questioned her on how 'dark' her child Archie's skin was going to be.

Prior to Meghan's wedding, there had been rumours in the press that the actress had made Kate cry - hence the question, but Meghan told Oprah Winfrey that the reverse was actually true.
Oprah added: "Was there a situation where she might of cried, or where she could have cried?"
"No, no" Meghan says. "The reverse happened. And I don't say that to be discouraging to anyone because it was a really hard week of the wedding and she was upset about something but she owned it, and she apologised, and she brought me flowers and a note."
She said: "She did what I would have done, which is take accountability."

Meghan then added: "What was shocking was that six or seven months after our wedding, that the reverse of that would be out in the world."
The Duchess of Sussex then revealed that the reason behind the emotional rift was flower girls' dresses - the texts regarding which have since been made public by Prince Harry.
In his tell-all memoir, 'Spare', published 2020, Harry revealed that Kate told Meghan the 'French couture' dresses needed remaking.

He wrote: "Meg didn't reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by."
He added: "This wasn't sufficient."
Harry then revealed that Meghan received a text from Kate which read: "Charlotte's dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home."

"Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?", Meghan replied.
Kate's response was: "No, all the dresses need to be remade."
Harry recalled: "Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!"
To which Meghan retorted: "Yes, Kate, I know... "
Harry's memoir then details Meghan texting: "I'm not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn't fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He's been waiting all day," and Kate replied with a short: "Fine."
