Usha Vance has honest response to question about fitting in with MAGA 'blondes and Botox'

The Second Lady is married to Vice President JD Vance

Usha Vance has opened up about life as the Second Lady of the United States.

Usha - wife of Vice President JD Vance - was asked about fitting in with the 'stereotypes' of right-wing women that are often publicised in American media.

The reporter from Free Press who asked the question described groups of such females as 'all the blondes and Botox and facelifts, the low-cut blouses and nine-inch heels'.

And while we don't quite agree with the arguably misogynistic choice of phrasing, we - among others - have since applauded Usha for her self-appreciative response.

The 39-year-old - who happens to be the first Indian American in her prestigious political position - laughed off the query 'because it would be really hard for me to be blonde'.

"That colour would look totally absurd," Usha went on, claiming that - while she might look different from a lot of other supporters of US leader Donald Trump - members of the 'Make America Great Again' party 'don't seem to care' for appearances.

"For what it’s worth, my reception into this world - and I’m not from a particularly wealthy background, not from a very fashion-oriented background personally or professionally - has been really positive," the mother-of-three continued.

"People don’t seem to care all that much what I look like," she said.

It's also worth noting that, while Usha seems now to align with Republican values, she voted for Democratic representatives in 2014. She also clerked for a number of conservative judges in the past.

Three years later, she registered as an independent. And her political preferences only began swaying towards the right when her husband was announced as a candidate for the Republican Party in 2022.

Discussing how she's now viewed by millions of members of the American population, she told the publication: "It’s a very strange life that we lead, where there are lots of people who have just imagined all sorts of narratives about us and what we think and what we do and why we do it and how much planning goes into it and all these sorts of things."

Apparently, however, Usha just want to be the best wife she can to Vance - who is often scrutinised for his views by left-leaners.

"I don’t know that he’s asking me for advice so much as, it can be a very lonely, lonely world not to share with someone," she told the outlet of their relationship.

The Californian - who previously worked as a trial lawyer, a career she gave up to support her husband - added that her main aim in life is to create a regular life for her children.

"To me, the highest priority right now is to be actually a normal person," Usha added.
