A princess graced the covers of Playboy, which is the first time that’s ever happened in history.
Sometimes, royals are just like us and have dreams to be on the cover of some of the magazines that we know and love.
As Playboy has been a staple for pin-ups to show off their, well…pins, there shouldn’t be a limit on which gorgeous woman is able to pose.

However, we are all aware that royals have particular protocols, and you’d be unlikely see a UK royal take up the gig due to their various rules.
But for the first time in history, a German princess has broken the mould.
Princess Xenia Florence Gabriela Sophie has officially posed for the cover of the infamous magazine.

Dubbed the Princess of Saxony, she has become the star of the March 2024 issue of Playboy, and the first-ever person of Royal lineage to appear in Playboy all together.
In one image, you can see her draped in a white bed sheet that’s off the shoulder, and another shows her in a bathing suit.
But as a royal, surely you’d be worried about what some of your relatives would think?
Well, apparently not.

According to the Princess, she believes her ancestors, including her great-great-great-grandfather Frederick Augustus III, the last King of Saxony, 'would have definitely approved' of her career choice, she told Playboy.
Her very great grandfather who she believes would support her had a very interesting history.
Not only did he peacefully abdicate the throne during an uprising, but he quietly left palace life to reside in his owned property after the kingdom was declared a free state.
According to reports, he had a stellar sense of humour, and wasn’t your average King, so maybe the Princess is right in her guess that he’d be right behind her if he knew she would be posing for Playboy a hundred years later.

Frederick Augustus was seemingly a popular monarch who often dressed in civilian clothes, spoke in the vernacular Upper Saxon dialect, and played skat with his subjects in the pubs.
Apparently, he was once standing in uniform on a station platform, when he was asked to move a lady’s trunk.
He apparently replied: "Madam, I am not a porter; I only look like one."
Then, when the German Republic was proclaimed in 1918, he was asked whether he would abdicate willingly.

To this he said: "Oh, well, I suppose I'd better."
Indeed, he did.
Anyway, it’s not just her historical grandad who would have supported her, but her mother actually did.
Xenia received approval from her mum when deciding to do Playboy, which led her to realise that she would be fine taking on this challenge.
"That was the key, and I felt it. So, everyone was fine with it," she said. "I even got a message from one of my cousins whom I haven’t spoken to in 20 years. He said, 'Wow, congratulations! You did a great job by breaking this wall.'
"I was like, 'Wow, even my own family is on my side'."
