The Queen's hilarious five-word remark ‘impersonating’ Melania Trump resurfaces after fans spot First Lady’s ‘unusual behaviour’

Royal commentator Ephraim Hardcastle claimed Queen Elizabeth II had a knack for impressions

A hilarious 'impression' the late Queen Elizabeth II allegedly once did of Melania Trump has recently re-emerged, as fans of the First Lady have once again been questioning her ‘unusual behaviour’.

For those in need of a reminder, throughout Donald Trump's first term in the White House, between 2017 and 2021, he and the Queen crossed paths during a number of state visits.

It was during one of the US president's stays in the UK, however, that the monarch supposedly surprised spectators by showing off her apparent knack for impressions - starting off with Trump's wife, Melania, who was also present.

According to royal commentator Ephraim Hardcastle, the Queen used a five-word phrase reminiscent of Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich to allegedly get into character.

"The late Queen Elizabeth, who hosted Donald Trump three times in 18 months, became adept at impersonating the US President," the royal expert wrote for the Daily Mail. "Less known, however, is that the monarch also had a take on his rarely heard wife Melania.

"A source, who was present when she was asked to render the First Lady, says that HM would go silent, put on a bored face and eventually mutter: 'I want to be alone' à la Marlene Dietrich.

"It seems the Queen felt sorry for the latest Mrs Trump."

The re-emergence of the late UK leader's impression comes after some of 54-year-old Melania's fans noticed her recently exhibiting some unconventional behaviour in public.

She appeared in Congress earlier this month (4 March) to support her Republican husband's first official speech since being sworn in as US president in January.

During the speech, 78-year-old Trump addressed several important issues - including trade tariffs and the situation in Ukraine - before being met with an eruption of cheers from attendees.

While many Washington D.C. visitors stood to congratulate their leader, mother-of-one Melania - who shares 18-year-old son Barron with the politician - remained seated.

"Could this have been a signal that some of his ideas do not fit with her view?" body language expert Mark Bowden previously said to Tyla. "Certainly, she made no facial signals of disgust or disdain as she remained singularly seated.

"Nevertheless, given that her own parents' US citizenship is due to the 'chain migration' process that Trump and his supporters have publicly denounced, it seems fair to assume she may be wanting to be seen as taking a stand - or seat - around that issue."

She did stand, however, when Trump gave her a specific mention during the speech.

The president gushed: "I also want to recognise another person who has devoted herself to foster care, community, she works so hard on it. Very loving person, our magnificent first lady of the United States."

Melania then stood at Trump continued: "Melania’s work has yielded incredible results, helping prepare our nation’s future leaders as they enter the workforce.

Her selective seating behaviour didn't go down too well at the time, however, with some Trump voters interpreting the move as Melania presenting her husband with a lack of support.

Taking to X, one hit out: "Irritating to see Melania Trump not stand up and clapping when everyone sitting around her is. That's your f**king husband. Show support."

Another said: "Why doesn’t Melania stand up for her man?"

A third asked: "Isn't Melania suppose to stand up?"

Tyla previously reached out to the White House for comment.
