Tensions appear to be rising between Selena Gomez and her friend Francia Raisa, who famously donated a kidney to Gomez back in 2017.
Gomez’s recent comment about Taylor Swift being her ‘only friend in the industry’ seems to have ignited the alleged drama, with Raisa being a well-known Latina actor.
Social media comments written by both Gomez and Raisa over the last few days have led fans to speculate that the former best friends are no longer on speaking terms.

It all started when E! News posted a screenshot of a quote Selena gave to Rolling Stone during a recent interview.
The quote read: “I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor.”
Raisa was quick to comment on E!’s post, writing: “Interesting,” beneath it. The comment was soon deleted.

Shortly after Raisa left the comment, fans pointed out that she no longer follows Gomez on Instagram, and it seems as though Gomez got wind of all the drama and decided to weigh in.
After watching a TikTok video explaining her and Raisa’s alleged beef, the superstar wrote: “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” beneath the social media post.
People were quick to weigh in on the apparent fallout and quickly took sides.

One person wrote: “She gave her a kidney! Come on Selena.”
A second Instagrammer echoed: “The fact she didn't mention her in the doc is just beyond,” while a third said: “Not a good look. Someone who gives you their kidney so you can continue to, you know, live is more than ‘someone you know’. It seems like there is other beef between the two of them that we don’t know about.”
However, others were team Selena, with someone commenting: “Selena is a saint and would never do anything wrong.”
Other pro-Gomez remarks included: “I do believe she meant music industry” and “She meant the music industry. Of course she considers the person who gave her a kidney, a friend!”

Tyla has approached Gomez and Raisa for comment.
The pair met in 2007 during a children’s hospital visit and have been friends since, with Raisa donating Gomez a kidney ten years later.
They seemed to be on good terms as recently as July, when they were seen taking part in a TikTok challenge together.
