Back in 1991, a man named Vasile Gorgos went missing while headed for Eastern Romania on a business trip.
After police investigations, memorials and a load of unanswered questions - the farmer's family went on to suspect foul play had occurred after the search ran cold and the years with no explanation began to mount up.
However, they were stunned when the farmer, who was 63 years old at the time of his disappearance, was 'dropped off' by a mystery car 30 years later before 'speeding off' into the distance never to be seen again.

Before going missing, he had bought and paid for his train ticket in advance and his family seemingly had no reason to worry when he left.
However, aware he was due to return that same night, panic started to set in and they called the police.
But the unbelievable happened on 29 August, 2021, when a car reportedly pulled up outside of the family home and Vasile stepped out, seeming confused.

He was wearing the same clothes he vanished in, and had his ID in his pocket, as well as a single train ticket valid for the Bacău-Ploieşti line from the day he disappeared into thin air.
His reappearance stunned his family and the local community, as memorials had been held in his memory since he went missing.
Upon returning, witnesses claimed that the car he was allegedly dropped off in sped off so quickly they were unable to note down the registration.

In February this year, the Sun reported that Vasile, who is now 93 years old, had been subject to medical checks that concluded he was in good overall health despite some neurological problems.
He was reportedly able to recall his birthday, the fact his wife had passed away, and that he was the son of a merchant.
On the other hand, he found it hard to recognise his children - a son and daughter - as his offspring.
His son told the press: "We don’t understand him. He doesn’t know what he’s saying.

"He talks to us about the period when he was involved in raising and selling cows. We ask him one thing, and he tells us another.
"Who knows where he has been, who kept him, maybe he was forced to work… who knows what kind of life he led?”
Vasile stated he had been at 'home' for the entire time he was missing.

Ever since the return happened, social media has been rife with theories.
The Gone but Never Forgotten podcast suggests he opted to 'ditch his life and his family' before 'wanting to make amends before he passed away'.
Another theory claims he had been in prison for 30 years which would explain wearing the same outfit.
Neither have proven to be true.
