Elliot Page has revealed he and Kate Mara once had a secret relationship and were very much in love.
Page, who is best known for starring in the likes of Juno, Inception and The Umbrella Academy, is set to release his highly-anticipated memoir Pageboy this month, which will explore his life in Hollywood, his mental health and his gender transition.
The actor first came out publicly as transgender in December 2020, and has been open with fans regarding his transition ever since, with him often sharing major steps of his journey on social media.

But his memoir - due to be released tomorrow on June 6 - is set to reveal even more stunning revelations about his life and gender transition journey, including a homophobic verbal attack he experienced with an A-list actor after he came out as gay - before transitioning - as well as his friendships with Catherine Keener, Kristin Wiig and Alia Shawkat.
Another revelation will be about a 'secret relationship' the actor had with fellow A-lister Kate Mara, who is best known for roles in the likes of House of Cards and American Horror Story.
The relationship came to be in 2014, when Page was busy filming the 2014 superhero movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.

"The first person I fell for after my heart was broken was Kate Mara," Page writes. "She had a boyfriend at the time, the lovely and talented Max Minghella."
While it isn't clear if there was any crossover between Mara’s relationship with Minghella and Page, the Hard Candy star claims that Mara said to him: "I never thought I could be in love with two people and now I know I can."
Mara and Minghella ultimately broke up in 2014 and Page said that Minghella was supportive of Mara exploring her feelings for him.

"This was right after I’d come out as gay and it was a time of exploration and also heartbreak," Page says.
"I think my relationship, or whatever you want to call it with Kate, very much encapsulates a certain dynamic that I consistently found myself in, which was falling for people that — I think a lot of us do this — who aren't fully available.
"And the sort of safety in that and the highs and the lows and the serotonin bump, and then it goes away."

While Page and Mara aren't romantically involved, the actor admits they are still close, saying: "I think the love and care that we have for each other is its very own special thing. Separate from the intimacy that I write about."
Mara has been married to actor Jamie Bell since 2017, while Page is not believed to be currently in a relationship following his divorce from ex-wife, Emma Portner.
