If you or your kid are having a stressful day, you might be interested to know about a hidden feature built into your iPhone that could really help you both out.
Chassedy just saved countless people a headache after revealing how to unlock the iPhone's white noise generator that can stay playing in the background of any app - And you're about to be one of them:
"Did you know iPhone has a built in noise generator? Use for you or to calm your baby", she wrote.

Why would this trick come in handy, I hear you ask?
White noise can help you get a better quality nights sleep by blocking out noises in your environment that might otherwise make you restless. Regular listening can even train your brain to know when it's time to go to sleep.
It can be a life-saver for parents who have a restless baby at home - or need a better night's sleep for themselves.
Of course, you can find countless white noise playlists on YouTube, so what's the benefit of having it as a built-in feature on your iPhone?

Well, conveniently, playing white noise from your iPhone means that you can keep scrolling through whatever apps you like, while the soothing sounds keep playing in the background, rather than having to keep an app like YouTube open.
This could be super handy for parents who want to sooth their kids to sleep but aren't quite finished flicking through the phone.
Sounds like a dream - literally!

So, here's what you need to do to make it happen:
Step one; open your Settings app and scroll down to the Accessibility tab.
When you get there, scroll down to the Audio/Visual tab and you'll find a page you've probably never seen before.
As well as controlling your headphones and phone noise cancellations, this folder also offers something called 'Background Sounds.'

According to the menu, enabling this option 'plays background sounds to mask unwanted environmental noise. These sounds could minimise distractions and help you to focus, calm, or rest.'
For step two, you'll just need to click on the 'Background Sounds' button and you'll be given a whole host of options, from Ocean or Stream to Rain or Dark Noise.
Finally, all you'll need to do to get the calming sounds going is to exit out of the Settings app.

Then, when you swipe down to access your utility menu, you'll see a little ear icon. When you press it, you'll be able to turn your chosen background sound on.
And that's that!
Prepare for countless nights of sound-sleeping. Thank me later.
