After the final episode of And Just Like That was released on Thursday, fans were left asking one important question - where's Aidan Shaw?!
It's a question that's been on every SATC fan's lips since the spin-off series debuted in December, after actor John Corbett told Page Six was was "going to do the show" and even teased he "might be in quite a few" episodes.

Fans held him to his word and waited with bated breath for Aidan and Carrie's reunion, especially after the unexpected death of Mr. Big.
After the finale, one fan tweeted: "So....no Aidan? #ajlt".
Last week another viewer mused: "One episode left and still no Aidan".
A third wrote: "Waited all season for Aidan."

In an unusual turn of events, the team behind And Just like That have said John owes fans an ‘apology’ because there seemingly no plans to bring the character back at all.
Writer Julie Rottenberg spoke with Deadline on Thursday about the final episode and why Corbett hadn’t made an appearance. “John Corbett should be writing personal apology notes,” she said. “We didn’t say anything.
In the same interview, executive producer Michael Patrick King clarified: “The fact of the matter is, we never said anything about Aidan, just like we never said, Steve and Carrie or getting together.

“We always try to be very restrained and look at the reality of what people are experiencing and it has nothing to do with Aidan coming or not coming.”
Furniture designer Aidan is known as Carrie's "the one that got away". Aidan was one of the most loved characters from the original HBO series and he appeared in seasons 3 and 4 and had a one-off guest appearance in season 6.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out between Carrie and Aidan thanks to Mr. Big and after reconciling, Carrie turned down Aidan's proposal. Aidan was last seen in Sex and the City 2.

When John confirmed his return which ultimately wasn't confirmed by the production team, Sarah Jessica Parker commented under an Instagram post about it. They say hindsight is 20/20 and perhaps SJP's vague response actually told us what we know now.
She said: "I'm not saying one way or another whether our beloved Mr. Corbett's interview deals in facts or fiction but the response is amazing to read..."
John Corbett's representatives have been contacted for further comment.
