It's.... dreadful tosh.
That's the verdict of some fans who tuned into watch the Channel 4 drama based on the 'Wagatha Christie' trial that gripped Brits earlier this year.
Vardy V Rooney: A Courtroom Drama aired its first episode last night (December 21) as it took viewers into the ins and outs of the libel trial that dominated headlines for weeks.
The trial saw WAGS Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy sharing intimate details of their lives, after Rooney accused Vardy of betraying her trust by feeding private information to the press.

Vardy ultimately lost the legal battle and the high court decided she must pay 90 percent of Rooney's court costs, as well as hand over £800,000 to her immediately.
However, the first episode of last night's dramatisation didn't get the warmest of receptions from the public - with some claiming they switched off within minutes of starting the show.
One fan tweeted: "Lasted 14 mins. Absolutely s**t," whilst another wrote: "This is just awful."

A fellow disappointed viewer said: "Seriously - what is this s**t on the telly?", as another simply branded the show 'dreadful tosh'.
One viewer found they couldn't look away: "This is so bad but I can’t turn it off."
Some viewers were left dismayed by the fact that Rooney wasn't played by a Scouse actress, with one disgruntled watcher tweeting: "Why is it so hard to hire Scouse actors to play Scousers? Rare you can find someone who can do a successful accent."

However, the reception wasn't unanimously frosty.
One Twitter user wrote: "God this is actually brilliant. I’m so invested in this show," while another tweeted: "Absolutely loving this programme, it’s like an early Christmas present!"
In the miniseries, Rooney is played by Chanel Cresswell, best known for playing Kelly in This Is England, whilst Harry Potter star Natalia Tena steps into the role of Vardy.
The drama, which is set to air its second part tonight (22 December), is based on real court transcripts from the trial which took place in the High Court in May 2022.

Rooney had first accused Vardy of leaking stories to the press in 2019, after she did some investigating to see who was leaking stuff from her private Instagram.
After posting a series of fake stories and restricting who could see them, Rooney came to the conclusion that Vardy was the culprit and publicly blasted her.
In response, Vardy sued for libel, but it was ultimately Wayne Rooney's wife who walked away the victory in July 2022 when the court ruled that her statement was 'substantially true'.
