The fast-paced, jaw-dropping and screamer of a BBC crime drama starring Sarah Lancashire and James Norton first came out in 2014 and it's been a whopping six years since season two was released.
Series three sees Lancashire return as Sergeant Catherine Cawood trying to get to the bottom of a series of crimes, which, inevitably, all lead back to the spine-chilling murderer and rapist Tommy Lee Royce (Norton).
Also to return to the screen is Cawood's grandson - and Royce's son - Ryan (Rhys Connah) who is now 16 years old.

Fans of the BBC series have flocked to social media in excitement, with many overjoyed after spotting an older Ryan in the trailer.
One said: "Finally! After 6 years of waiting Happy Valley is back! For them to wait until Ryan Cawood grows up. I'm wondering if he'll be the one who kills Tommy Lee Royce and saves his granny. Or does Clare die? Or could Royce escape from prison?"
"Wait, was that a new Happy Valley trailer???? Best. Series. EVER," another commented.
A third wrote: "I love UK TV...Happy Valley by Sally Wainwright starring the brilliant Sarah Lancashire had two cracking seasons. It was never officially cancelled, but I thought it was done. Now SEVEN YEARS later the BBC just casually drops a trailer for season three!"

The official BBC synopsis for series three reads: "When Catherine discovers the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir, it sparks a chain of events that leads her straight back to Tommy Lee Royce [James Norton].
"Her grandson, Ryan [Rhys Connah], is now sixteen and has ideas of his own about the kind of relationship he wants to have with the man Catherine refuses to acknowledge as his father, leaving Catherine’s sister Clare [Siobhan Finneran] caught in the middle.
"In another part of the valley, a local pharmacist gets in over his head when a neighbour is arrested."
