From The Great British Bake Off to Is it Cake?, we’re all obsessed with baking contests – probably because many of us know they involve show-stopping masterpieces that we could never even come close to nailing.
And now there’s a new kid on the block, following the competitive world of Blue Ribbon baking.
Watch the trailer below:
Blue Ribbon Baking Championship follows bakers from state fairs across the USA as they battle it out to win $100,000.

“For over 100 years, the American state fair has been the proving ground for the most wildly talented bakers across the United States,” Netflix says.
“Now, for the first time ever, Blue Ribbon winning bakers from state fairs across the nation get the chance to compete against each other in the Blue Ribbon Baking Championship.”
Baking icon Sandra Lee, former White House pastry chef Bill Yosses and award-winning artisan baker Bryan Ford will serve as judges, putting the contestants through their paces to see which baker serves up the ‘most delicious, inventive, and masterful delicacies’ to win the nation’s ‘ultimate blue ribbon’.

Meanwhile, actor Jason Biggs is on board as host – a casting choice that’s left many Netflix fans saying the same thing.
“Just don't let Jason Biggs near any of the pies by himself!!” one joked on YouTube after watching the trailer.
While another quipped: “Just don't let Jason Biggs near any of the pies by himself!!”

A third agreed: “Jason Biggs? I hope the contestants won't be making any pies.”
They are, of course, referencing Biggs’ famous turn as Jim Levenstein in the American Pie films – the first of which sees his character experiment, ahem, sexually with a pie his mum’s just made.
I don't think we need to go into any more detail on that...

“As long as, Jason Biggs is in this, I can't hate on this,” a fourth wrote, with someone else adding: “Omg you got a host that loves pie too much.”
While others also branded the show ‘American Great British Bake Off’ and ‘GBBO 2.0.’, saying they were ‘excited’ for the new series to drop.
Thankfully, you’ve not got long to wait, as Blue Ribbon Baking Championship premieres on Netflix on Friday (9 August).
