Love Island's Davide And Jacques 'Knew Each Other' Before Entering The Villa

Love Island fans are suspicious after realising that islanders Davide Sanclimenti and Jacques O'Neill may have knew one another before entering the villa this season.

Yes, apparently these two bombshells didn't meet for the first time during the ITV2 show, but had been acquaintances, at the very least, for over a year.

Sleuthing fans put it all together while doing some digging into the islanders' social media accounts in between episodes of the explosive new season.

During a social scroll through Davide's old Instagram posts, one fan spotted an interaction between the Italian snack and Jacques O'Neill.

Commenting on a photo that Davide had uploaded from a professional shoot, Jacques, who is coupled up with Paige Thorne on the show, jokingly wrote: "You boys need to start training", adding a pig emoji.

Seeming familiar with Jacques, Davide replied: "More gym and less parties I guess", to which Jacques wrote back: "More gym keep the amount of parties the same."

Sharing a screenshot of the interaction to Twitter, one confused fan asked: "So are Jacques and Davide ever going to mention they both [knew] each other before going on the show? And does this mean Davide also knew Gemma?"

Before appearing on Love Island, Jacques had previously dated fellow contestant Gemma Owen - a fact which had initially stirred up some mild drama in the villa.

When Jacques appeared in the villa last Sunday, a blindsided Gemma revealed she had dated him for approximately eight months before the pair broke up a year and a half ago.

Meanwhile, the recently-discovered Insta interaction between Jacques and Davide took place just over one year ago, meaning there's a chance that Davide had not come across Gemma before entering the villa. But fans aren't so sure.

Commenting on the new revelation, one fan tweeted: "makes sense now. Jacques was the most comforting to Davide and made little shots at Ekin-Su/Jay last episode."

"Omg that would’ve been like the same time Jacques and Gemma were dating as well..!?!?" suggested a second.

And a third confused viewer wrote: "My heads absolutely gone. So Jacques and Davide knew each other and were following each other on IG prior to going into the villa and then acted like it was the first time meeting each other? Does that mean Davide knew Gemma as well?"

When he entered the villa as this season's first bombshell, Davide decided to couple up with Gemma, stealing her from Liam Llewellyn. While the couple appeared to get along for a short time, they soon went their separate ways, opting to couple up with Ekin-Su and Luca respectively.

However, after a recent shake-up, thanks to new girl Danica, Gemma and Davide were brought back together when the 19-year-old opted to save her Italian friend from being sent home in a shock recoupling.
