With Married at First Sight back on our screens with a host of unlucky in love singletons looking for a spouse, 2021 contestant Marilyse Corrigan has revealed exactly what goes into wedding planning.
The 38-year-old personal trainer exchanged vows with Franky Spencer, a 47-year-old strength and conditioning coach.
Although the couple split six months after the show wrapped, they have remained close friends and Marilyse has shared how their wedding day came together – including a potential crisis involving her dress.

“When I went to the dress shop for filming, I didn’t like any of the dresses so I had two weeks to find a dress,” she revealed to OK! Magazine.
Bridal shops were closed at the time due to the Covid-19 pandemic however the bride-to-be at the time was able to contact a shop in York and inform them about the show – and her strict deadline.
Thankfully, they were able to open and the mum-of-two was able to find the perfect dress. Marilyse said each bride is given a budget but if the dress they choose costs more, they have to cover the additional cost themselves.

Contestants choose their bridal parties and are provided with a booklet for table dressings.
Both Marilyse and Franky happened to choose navy blue as the theme, however not every couple agrees.
Contestants are also asked to choose their ideal first dance song, however Marilyse recalled Franky being shocked when her song was chosen over his.

When they met for the first time at the top of the aisle, in front of their friends and family, Whitney made it extremely clear that she wasn't happy with her new husband.
Speaking to Duka at the altar, Whitney told him straight: "I’m in between maybe saying the vows, or maybe, just like, run."
She later added: "This is the worst thing I’ve ever done in my f***ing life."
Nobody wants to hear this at their wedding.
