Normal People Fans Are Just Noticing Connell's Heartbreaking Gesture At School

We're sobbing.

Just when we thought we'd recovered from the emotional turmoil of watching Normal People, fans have noticed a heartbreaking gesture made by Connell after Marianne drops out of school.

A clip of the scene was posted on TikTok by @chloz18, who captioned it 'brb crying'.

You can watch it below:

If you're big fans like us, you'll remember that Marianne dropped out of school after Connell told her he was taking Rachel to the debs (sob).

She comes in for exams, but spends the rest of the time studying and revising from home, before heading off to university where the pair eventually end up meeting again at a party.

And fans are equally emotionally distraught at the scene and the fact they hadn't noticed the gesture while watching. One person commented: "Screaming crying throwing up."

The official teaser trailer for the BBC Three series Conversations With Friends dropped last week and we couldn't be more excited.

It follows Frances, a 21-year-old college student, who tries to navigate a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time.

BBC explain: "Frances is observant, cerebral and sharp. Her ex-girlfriend, now best friend, Bobbi is self-assured, outspoken and compelling.

"Though they broke up three years ago, Frances and Bobbi are virtually inseparable and perform spoken word poetry together in Dublin. It’s at one of their shows that they meet Melissa, an older writer, who is fascinated by the pair.

"Bobbi and Frances start to spend time with Melissa and her husband, Nick, a handsome but reserved actor.
